Our Mission

Guarding the future of evolutionary mobility.

The automotive industry has operated on a single assumption for over a century: vehicles are products to be replaced. ReShape Mobility Foundation was created to replace that assumption with a better one.

We govern two open protocols that together redefine the lifecycle of mobility — the RMF Architecture Protocol for evolutionary vehicles and the LiveRoad Protocol (LRP) for real-time cartographic intelligence. Both are open, neutral, and built to outlive any single manufacturer.

The concepts are open. The standards are governed. The authorship is clear. Michel Martins de Araujo conceived and registered both frameworks in 2025, with intellectual origin timestamped via Avctoris. The Foundation exists to carry them forward.

Open Architecture
Open standards for interoperability across manufacturers, suppliers, research bodies, and regulators.
Evolution
Vehicles designed to evolve continuously without structural replacement as the default path.
Trust & Safety
Digital homologation, traceability, and auditability for every certified upgrade.
Regeneration
A mobility model that reduces waste, preserves value, and extends industrial usefulness.
Foundation Protocols

Two open protocols. One Foundation.

ReShape Mobility Foundation governs two complementary open standards — one for the vehicle, one for the road. Both registered via Avctoris (2025), published under CC BY 4.0 with Foundation Covenant.

Primary ProtocolRMF-ARCH-001

RMF Architecture Protocol

Open architecture for evolutionary vehicles.

Modular vehicles built on a Durable Structural Base, certified through Electronic Re-Homologation, coordinated by the Upgrade Orchestrator, sustained by the Modular Recurring Model. Vehicles that evolve instead of expire.

  • RHE · Electronic Re-Homologation
  • UO · Upgrade Orchestrator

Secondary ProtocolLRP-STD-001

LiveRoad Protocol (LRP)

Open standard for real-time cartographic intelligence.

A neutral, privacy-by-design protocol layer enabling verified real-time road event intelligence across all automotive ecosystems — manufacturer-agnostic, governance-neutral, permanently open. LRP does not compete with maps. It is what makes maps real.

Architecture Standards

Four pillars. One coherent system.

The ReShape Mobility architecture is defined by four interlocking standards. Each is open, documented, and governed by the Foundation. Together they form the complete specification for an evolutionary vehicle.

BED — Standard RMF-TS-01
Durable Structural Base
The permanent vehicle foundation carrying the VIN. Engineered for multi-decade lifespan with standardised mechanical, electrical, and data interfaces for all modular attachments. Structural integrity monitored by embedded sensors in real time.
MECHANICAL
RHE — Standard RMF-TS-02
Electronic Re-Homologation
Digital post-upgrade certification. After every module replacement, sensors validate structural integrity and the Upgrade Orchestrator issues a cryptographic compliance certificate linked to the VIN — immutably stored on a certified private blockchain.
DIGITAL · LEGAL
UO — Standard RMF-TS-03
Upgrade Orchestrator
The automotive operating system. Manages module discovery, authentication, firmware compatibility, calibration, and OTA integration. AI-enhanced predictive maintenance. The single point of truth for vehicle configuration state.
SOFTWARE · AI
MRM — Standard RMF-SM-01
Modular Recurring Model
The economic architecture replacing one-time sales with long-term value. Evolution plans, software subscriptions, module marketplace, and certified reconditioning chains. Revenue follows the vehicle's lifetime.
BUSINESS MODEL
CERT — Standard RMF-SM-02
ReShape Certified
The Foundation's designation for compliant vehicles, modules, and service centres. Requires full adherence to BED, RHE, and UO specifications. Reviewed and renewed per upgrade cycle. The mark of evolutionary integrity.
CERTIFICATION
ESG — Standard RMF-SM-03
Circularity Metrics
Auditable sustainability indicators: Structural Integrity Rate, Module Reuse Rate, CO₂ Avoidance Index, and Circular Material Index. Designed to support future circularity reporting, ESG audit trails, and lifecycle-impact governance.

RHE Protocol

Digital certification for every upgrade.

Every module replacement triggers an automatic validation cycle. Embedded sensors in the BED verify structural integrity. The Upgrade Orchestrator checks firmware signatures and compatibility matrices. When all parameters pass, a cryptographic certificate is issued and linked permanently to the VIN.

The certificate is stored on a certified private blockchain — immutable, auditable, and accessible to regulators, insurers, and owners. If a collision is detected, all future upgrades are automatically blocked until a certified service centre completes a physical inspection.

This is not just a technical process. It is the foundation of trust in evolutionary mobility — the mechanism that allows a vehicle to evolve without ever compromising safety.

Open Concept Declaration

Build with it.
Just build it right.

ReShape Mobility is an open concept. Any manufacturer, supplier, research institution, or startup may implement, prototype, and commercialise vehicles and systems based on this architecture. No licensing fee is required to implement. The concept is genuinely open — published under CC BY 4.0 with Foundation Covenant. The authorship of Michel Martins de Araujo travels with every implementation, forever.
